Training & Safety
The Local 493 Training & Safety Department is a division of the Local through which we hope to establish better standards of workplace safety, behavior, and technical knowledge. The department will develop a catalog of training videos and materials that will be available to all members. We encourage you to take part in these programs as they will make you and everyone around you safer, on and off set.

LinkedIn Learning Subscription (formerly Lynda.com) is now free through the IATSE TTF!

The IATSE Training Trust Fund is offering FREE Online Safety Training for all workers covered under the 2015-2018 Area Standards Agreement. The free training consists of the General Safety Training “A” and Environmental Safety “A2”. The TTF is encouraging all eligible workers to take these courses. ASA Flyer Safety Pass Instructions TTF Online Safety Course Application

To fill out online, visit www.iatsetrainingtrust.org/asa/ and click the "APPLY TODAY!" box on the left of the screen. This will download a fillable PDF. Fill that out, save it and email it to safety@iatsetrainingtrust.org. Then you will be contacted by them with further instructions. It might take a few days to hear from them.

TTF SAFETY FIRST! ONLINE COURSES
The Safety First! Online Courses promote safe working conditions by providing information, tools, and resources to recognize potential hazards and minimize risks. Case studies from the various crafts are included, making the curriculum relevant across the IATSE workforce.

Harassment Prevention (HP1 or HP2)
**HP2 is for department heads, keys, and those with supervisory responsibilities. Do not take both HP courses.**

HP1
This course will assist individuals to identify behaviors that create or contribute to unlawful harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. It also offers information on how to respond to incidents of harassment in the workplace.
​
HP2
This course will assist individuals to identify behaviors that create or contribute to unlawful harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. It also offers information on how to assist in preventing and responding to incidents of harassment in the workplace. Individuals who have completed “HP2” – Harassment Prevention 2 will receive credit for “HP1” – Harassment Prevention 1.

Monthly Short Video
During each of our monthly meetings we will be showing a short safety video (5 - 15 mins). These videos will cover a wide range of different subjects. As we always encourage all of our members to attend these meetings, we understand that sometimes life gets in the way. So following the meeting we will post the latest video on this page as well as previous videos.
